Noon – 1 pm: Program

Ron Marston
Adobe Photoshop is the preeminent pixel image editing software of the 21st century and acquiring knowledge of its use is almost a requirement for anyone who deals with digital images.
Whether you are creating a logo for your website, posting images to Facebook, optimizing real estate pictures for a listing, or photographing your nephew’s wedding, Photoshop can help you make those images look as good as they can. Virtually all digital images can be enhanced in some way using Photoshop. And poor editing techniques can make them look worse.
On July 22, Ron Marston, Graphic Communications Professor at Truckee Meadows
Community College will demonstrate the “in’s and out’s” of Photoshop and discuss “best practices” in Photoshop to get the most out of an image in order to achieve maximum aesthetic effect, and to optimize images for the environment they are intended for, whether it’s for print or web, a computer monitor or a portable device.
By the time you leave learned photo resolution: pixels, megapixels and how much is needed; file formats: when to use JPEG, PNG, and GIF; non-destructive editing techniques in Photoshop; and many quick tips using key components of the image: Values, Hues, Saturation, Sharpness, Resolution, and File Format.
